What books are on my night table?

Actually, none. My books are scattered all over the house. If I have a few moments free, I read. I also have books that I'm reading on my Kindle and on my iPad, usually two different ones. Most of my books are mysteries. I read them because I love the genre and because the good ones teach me to write better.

Right now I am reading Scott Turow's Identical and Lee Childs Past Tense. These are two very different styles and they both grab you from the first page in very different ways. On my Kindle is Someone Knows by Lisa Scottoline, and the iPad has Trails of Deception by Rich Curtin, a new one for me.

I have put Jodi Picoult's on the next to read list, in the same way that I save the best candy for last. More on Jodi Picoult in a later post.
